Our eyewear not only looks good, but feels good too. Five2One Eyewear is committed to helping build a better world by designing eyewear in the most sustainable way possible. Our frames are made from certified recycled plastic that would otherwise have ended up in incinerators or polluted our forests, rivers, seas and oceans.
Our glasses are made with great care from rPET. This means that we only use recycled PET bottles to manufacture our frames. All of our material is GRS certified and packed and shipped in low-impact packaging.
Our metal frames are made with 80% post-consumer waste metal. This metal is recycled and re-used to create our beautiful metal Five2One sunglasses and reading glasses.
The European Economic Area (or the EU for short) sets certain quality standards for products. A CE mark shows that the product meets these standards. CE rules for sunglasses state that the glasses must protect the eyes from the total UVB and UVA spectrum, that is, up to a wavelength of 380 nm.
In other words, if you are shopping within the EU and you see a CE mark on the sunglasses, then you can be sure that these glasses adequately protects against UVB and UVA. You can find the CE symbol usually on the eyeglass legs, on the inside.
The CE category on a pair of sunglasses tells you what percentage of sunlight can pass through the lens or glass.
This is expressed in % VLT, which stands for:
Visible Light Transmission. It literally tells you how much light can pass through the lens, the higher the percentage, the less light it blocks.
Our sunglasses have CE category 3 (8-18% VLT).
CE category 3 is the most common CE category.
This type blocks 82 to 92% of sunlight. Suitable for a walk on the beach, upstairs or outdoor activities on the most sunny days. See the difference, be the difference.
